This short film of 30 minutes explores whether any unusual or co-incidental circumstances were present, when couples first met. We wanted to explore this theme, to see whether forces operate outside our conscious control, which profoundly influence the course of our lives.

While each narrative belongs solely to the person telling us their story, the Artist and Filmmaker, Hervé Constant, has created a visual canvas, upon which the interviewer, Madelyn Freeman, explores the film’s theme and revelations... We were fortunate in this quest, since several people agreed to assist us, in this exploration, and tell us their story.
The impetus for creating this film arose out of personal circumstances ... I was curious to know why some love affairs evolve satisfactorily, while others stagnate, or unfold merely as ‘wishful thinking’.
I had mentioned this outline to Hervé Constant, the Artist and Filmmaker, whom I have known for 10 years. Initially, we met socially, but, in my professional capacity as a psychotherapist, became increasingly interested in developing a dialogue about how the creative process happens. In 1998, an interview in this regard was published.
I thought no further about ‘Forces of destiny’ until Hervé insisted we film it and, to this end, interviews were arranged. We hope this film will stimulate thoughts and interest . An epilogue has been discussed and, should interest remain high, filming a sequel to the original text.
